What will you be doing at DeepL?

DeepL is looking for an experienced and motivated Solutions Consulting Lead to manage our newly formed Solutions Consulting team. You will be responsible for the team supporting our Sales team with technical and functional support on their key opportunities and ensuring they have access to the tools and techniques necessary to be self-sufficient in smaller deals.

We would love for you to play this critical role in ensuring our significant revenue growth targets in a fast-paced and dynamic market. You should have the energy, business insight, sales expertise, and people management skills to build and inspire your team to help our Sales team consistently achieve meaningful growth targets while working in close collaboration with our cross-functional partners.


Your responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership, vision, and direction for the Solutions Consulting (SC) team and broader DeepL sales organization 
  • Hire, grow, lead, and motivate your high-performing team of Solutions Consultants who will partner with Account Executives and Account Managers to plan and execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles
  • Support direct reports by participating and leading in prospect meetings and engaging other corporate resources as required
  • Ongoing SC team mentoring and development, including recruiting, onboarding, and training new team members.  
  • Report accurately to Senior Management on progress/obstacles
  • Help Sales close deals by being their technical bridge between our Sales team and their prospects.
  • Support your team in translating business requirements into technical solutions and solving complex technical concepts into simple language
  • Support the technical relationship with our prospects to drive customer satisfaction by managing and delivering technical information, primarily via remote calls and video conferences
  • Develop, manage and deliver tools, collateral, and an engaging approach to ensure that the Sales team maintain their technical knowledge, allowing us to provide an effective and scalable support model to the Sales organization
  • Discover customer needs beyond initial ones and present solutions to address these

About you

  • Experience working with customers in a technical pre-sales or sales engineering role
  • Previous hands-on experience with customer evaluations and deployments
  • You are a strategic thinker who can find creative solutions to our prospects’ complex use cases
  • You have analytical thought processes that enable you to present appropriate solutions in a consultative style that informs our customers and helps close deals
  • You have above average listening skills and are experienced at engaging and building relationships with high profile startups and businesses in the most senior ranks
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills experience in building strong working relationships at all levels of management
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment and have a can-do and proactive attitude
  • You have a base of knowledge of IT questionnaires, security questionnaires, and Single Sign-On frameworks
  • Minimum one year of management experience
  • Fluency in English

  • A base familiarity in software development and are comfortable working with REST APIs.
  • Fluency in German
  • A base of knowledge with ISO 27001 and SOC 2
  • Another European language (especially French) or Japanese!
  • Knowledge of translation software and technology
