What will you be doing at DeepL?

We’re looking for a copywriter to lay the foundation of all our communications, internally and externally. You will define our tone of voice and strategic messaging to deliver copy that engages and motivates. You’ll have the opportunity to provide strategic direction on high priority projects, in addition to crafting elegant copy that distils complex concepts into clear, actionable language. This role will partner closely with product, marketing, sales, and our localization teams.


Your responsibilities

  •  Brainstorm and collaborate on solving customer and business problems
  • Write compelling copy, concepts, campaigns and thoughts across all channels and audiences
  • Lead long-term strategic content projects
  • Work with design, product, and engineering, to create the words that guide DeepL's product experiences
  • Communicate complex product features and benefits in ways that speak to our users and help them understand and use our products
  • Create, maintain, and implement style guides and shared nomenclature across DeepL
  • Contribute to live updates of the brand tone of voice and strategic messaging that aligns to wider company goals

About you

  • 3+ years proven experience working as a Copywriter
  • Strong conceptual skills and big-picture thinking
  • Strong editing skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to make complex marketing programs and products sound simple
  • Ability and willingness to write everything the user experience requires, including navigation items, button labels, tool tips, headlines, intro copy, error messages, in addition to long-form content, landing pages, blog posts, email newsletters, and ads
  • Can embrace a fast-paced, iterative work environment
  • Native written English skills preferred
